Crazy Horse bike at Rapid City show
Crazy Horse Memorial’s two-wheeled fundraising powerhouse will be featured at the 23rd Black Hills Motorcycle Show April 9 and 10 in LaCroix Hall at Rushmore Plaza Civic Center in Rapid City.
The event is a rare road trip for the classic 2003 Indian Chief Roadmaster motorcycle, normally displayed in the Memorial’s Welcome Center. The bike, donated to the Memorial by Jon Marshall of Rapid City, will be awarded to a new owner at the raffle ticket drawing on Sept. 6, 2011.
Raffle proceeds are helping to match the $5 million T. Denny Sanford Foundation challenge that is funding development of the horse’s head on the giant mountain carving.
Bike raffle tickets are $20 each or three for $50. Tickets will be available at the bike show or can be acquired by calling (605) 673-4681 or e-mailing memorial@crazyhorse.org.
The bike show will be open 10 a.m.-7 p.m. Saturday, April 9, and 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Sunday, April 10. Admission is $6 for adults and free for children age 6 and younger.
