Summer programs featured Thursday evenings
An award-winning visual artist, a respected cultural preservation proponent and a widely traveled drum group will be featured at the upcoming 6 p.m. Thursday free programs at Crazy Horse Memorial.
The remaining presentations for July include:
- July 12 – Roger Broer, Hill City, SD; Lakota visual artist
- July 19 - Leonard Little Finger, Oglala, SD; Lakota educator, historian and cultural preservation advocate
- July 26 - Elk Nation Drum Singers; Rapid City, SD; Lakota drum group
People wanting to see the weekly programs can enter the Memorial for free by contributing money or three cans of food per person for the KOTA Care and Share Food Drive. The benefit helps regional families served by the Feeding South Dakota food bank in Rapid City.
After the presentations, audience members may tour the Memorial’s museum and Native American Cultural Education Center complex and stay for the evening “Legends in Light” laser-light program shown on the mountain carving.
