Head to Crazy Horse for the holidays
In making your Black Hills holiday getaway, remember that Crazy Horse Memorial is open every day, from 8 a.m. to dark during the winter season. And the Memorial’s Laughing Water Restaurant offers Sunday brunch from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Admission to Crazy Horse on weekends and holidays now through mid-June is three cans of food per person or cash contributions to the KOTA Care & Share Food Drive.
From Dec. 13 to January 2, visitors will see 65 years of collected ornaments, from antiques to modern moving displays, in the area of founding sculptor Korczak Ziolkowski’s original log home-studio. During this period, the moving holiday musical light show will be presented on the mountain between 5 p.m. and 7 p.m.
Visitors also will find meal specials for the whole family at Laughing Water Restaurant, which be open until 7:30 p.m., although closed on Dec. 25 and 31.
Crazy Horse Memorial, on U.S. 16/385 between Custer and Hill City, is open every day of the year and is just 17 miles to Mount Rushmore. Call 605-673-4681 or email memorial@crazyhorse.org for information.
