Tribal flag collection continues expanding
In March, three new banners joined the growing collection of North American tribal flags proudly displayed throughout the Crazy Horse Memorial visitor complex.
Indian Museum of North America director Anne Ziolkowski-Christensen said the Original Porch area outside sculptor Korczak Ziolkowski’s original log home-studio now exhibits flags for:
- The Viejas Band of Kumeyaay Indians of Alpine, California (given in honor of elder member Thomas Hyde);
- The Nunatsiavat Nation at St. John’s, Newfoundland, Canada; and,
- The Muscogee (Creek) Nation of Okmulgee, Oklahoma.
