Sanford Challenge gathering friends, tops $3.3 million

The number of friends taking the Sanford Challenge has grown significantly since the Grass Roots Club Update newsletter in February reported contributions at $3 million.

At the end of April, contributions had surpassed $3.3 million, according to Crazy Horse Memorial comptroller Joe Konkol. That’s nearly two-thirds of the $5 million goal established in December 2007.

The T. Denny Sanford Foundation matches contributions of all sizes that are designated to expedite carving the world’s largest sculpture in progress. Any gift amount qualifies you as a member of the Crazy Horse Grass Roots Club.
