Welcome Center
Dedicated in 2000, the 40,000 square foot Welcome Center at Crazy Horse Memorial is the main entrance to the Visitor Complex.
The main entryway and information desk are the first things visitors see when entering the Welcome Center.
"The Promise" painting above the information desk, by the late Steve Fountain (1921-2007), shows Korczak Ziolkowski and Lakota Chief Henry Standing Bear at the 1948 dedication of Crazy Horse Memorial.
These scenes, photographed from opposite directions in the Welcome Center, show how the center represents a major expansion of the exhibit space adjoining the Indian Museum of North America.
One of the most prominent displays in the Welcome Center is the plains tipi. |
