This collection of 19th and early 20th century photographs showing Native American life is featured in the Indian Museum of North America. The Steve and Molly Dancey Collection includes many photographs taken by J. H. Grabill, as well as other photographers. Museum director A.R. Ziolkowski notes that many of the Native Americans appearing in the photographs are identified by name, which has proven to be a valuable resource for historical and genealogical research.
