Mahkoche Kin

Mahkoche Kin (Lakota for 'The Land') is an hour long walk through the woods of Crazy Horse Memorial® with culture bearer Darrell Red Cloud (Lakota). This program is a perfect opportunity to get off the beaten path to enjoy nature while reflecting on the sacred Black Hills (Paha Sapa).

Mahkoche Kin (The Land) is a guided walk through the woods of Crazy Horse Memorial® with Darrell Red Cloud (Lakota) on select Fridays throughout the summer. On this in-depth experience, Darrell Red Cloud stops four separate instances and speaks about the traditional uses of the land, the significance of the Black Hills, the story of Crazy Horse, and the land as a home. All Cultural Programming, including Mahkoche Kin, is included with admission to the Memorial. See below for further details.
