The Memorial is open 9:00AM-4:30PM.

Exhibits and experiences demonstrate our commitment to preserving the living heritage of the North American Indians. Visitors can learn about Native history and life, the art and science of Carving, and the lives of the Ziolkowski family.

The Indian Museum of North America® is home to a large collection of art and artifacts reflecting the diverse histories and cultures of over 300 Native Nations.

Crazy Horse Memorial has two museums, The Indian Museum of North America®, and the Ziolkowski Family Life Collection. These offerings complement and inform the world’s largest mountain sculpture by telling the story of the project’s genesis and progress, the Ziolkowski Family’s commitment to the project, while sharing its relevance to larger Indigenous issues across the continent.

The Indian Museum of North America®(IMNA) is home to a large collection of art and artifacts that tell the stories of the diverse histories and cultures of over 300 Native Nations. In addition, the IMNA hosts a robust suite of cultural programs offerings, consisting of daily music and dance performances. These performances are complemented by Artists in Residence program that draws high-profile Native artists from across the continent, and our Living Treasures program that offers a hands-on art learning experience for our visitors. Visitors can interact with artists in the Native American Educational and Cultural Center.

Consisting of the Log Home and the Sculptor’s Studio, The Ziolkowski Family Life Museum shares aspects of Korczak’s life in Connecticut before embarking on the Mountain Carving, along with the story of the arduous conditions he, Ruth and their children faced in the formative years of the project. The Log Home offers views into the Family’s kitchen, stories of interactions at the Home with significant historical figures, while Korczak’s key off-season projects, including sculpting but others as well, are displayed in the Studio.
