Bus to Base

Rustic bus rides to the bottom of the Mountain, for a close-up view (weather permitting). Rides begin when the complex opens, leave approximately every 30 minutes, and end 1 hour before closing.

Face-to-Face

Meet Crazy Horse Face-to-Face through a memorable trip up to the Crazy Horse Carving, available with a Charitable Gift to Crazy Horse Memorial® (Charitable Gifts are non-refundable).


We are pleased that significant progress is being made on the Mountain Carving. The Mountain Crew is actively working on the intricate details of carving Crazy Horse’s Left Hand and the Horse’s Mane.


To accommodate Mountain Crew work and to adequately prepare for your safe trip up the Mountain, please note the hours below. Please call the Memorial at 605-673-4681 to schedule your reservation (weather and road conditions permitting).


Monday - Thursday – Trips up start at 1:00 pm until the last boarding one hour before close. (not available in winter M-Th)

Friday: Trips up start at 1:00 pm until the last boarding one hour before close. *

Saturday and Sunday: 9:00 am until the last boarding one hour before close.*
