The Crazy Horse Spring Volksmarch (an organized hike) is a 5K or 10K (6.2 miles round trip) woodlands walk to the world’s largest Mountain Carving in progress in the southern Black Hills of South Dakota.

Native Americans' Day

South Dakota was the first state to officially celebrate Native Americans' Day on the second Monday in October annually and the first dedication of the holiday from then Gov. George S. Mickelson was held at Crazy Horse Memorial®. For over 30 years, the celebration of Native Americans' Day at the Memorial has echoed the original event and it has grown to become a staple in the Black Hills.

Native American Heritage Month - November

November is National Native American Heritage Month. Proclaimed by President George H. W. Bush in 1990, he "authorized and requested to call upon Federal, State, and local Governments, groups, organizations, and the people of the United States to observe such month with appropriate programs, ceremoines, and activities" to honor and celebrate all Indignous people.
