Director of The Indian University of North America®, John Little, completed a PhD in history from the University of Minnesota. His dissertation was titled, “Vietnam Akichita: Lakota and Dakota Military Tradition in the Twentieth Century.
Dr. John Little said “earning my PhD has been one of most challenging accomplishments of my life. I have been fortunate to have an incredible team of mentors along the way. Returning every summer to The Indian University of North America® and working with Native students who were passionate about supporting their communities, maintaining their cultures and traditions, and making the world a better place has kept me going. I would not be where I am without those students.”
Dr. Little is excited to use his PhD to mentor other Native youth, especially through university programming, to help create the next generation of doctors, lawyers, teachers, and leaders.
