Lighting Up Orange Article

October 29, 2016

The Mountain will be lit orange on November 2nd from 5:00 to 7:30 pm to spread awareness of Complex Regional Pain Syndrome/Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy (CRPS/RSD). While the Memorial is not open, the public is invited to drive into the parking lot to view the lights and take pictures. CRPS/RSD is a chronic neuro-inflammatory disorder. CRPS occurs when the nervous system and the immune system malfunction as they respond to tissue damage from trauma. The nerves misfire, sending constant pain signals to the brain. The level of pain is measured as one of the most severe on the McGill University Pain Scale. To find out more information on CRPS/RSD go to: http://rsds.org/
