Last week Mountain Crew photographers, including Monique Ziolkowski, took their annual helicopter flight over the Carving in progress to capture historical and research footage. As close as they are to the Mountain on a daily basis, the photographers were still in awe. The difference in the appearance of Crazy Horse’s Hand area since their last flight (October 2015) proves the old adage “a picture is worth a thousand words” true… . although, it seems only one word was heard repeatedly during the flight. “Wow.”
